As initiator of the thread, I guess I get to post first:
I shot this footage before I heard about Semanal, so this is more of an exercise in in creating a narrative of sorts out of material shot without any particular purpose in mind, and in playing with mood and atmosphere, rather than trying to discern any meaning (there isn’t any). It was also my first real test of the Aiptek GO-HD camcorder.

It is whatever you need it to be. For me it I get it posted before Saturday 11:59 PT I'm doing good. There will be some weeks that I'll miss and make up for later.
If I slip into Sunday then I create my own time zone. Be fluid and post when you can.
At first I was reading it as some kind of mixed romance/melancholic memory between the guy with the hat and the first guy we see at the restaurant. By the end that didn't fit, but you had me going for a bit :)
I was thinking that too, Nathan.
I *love* the mood you developed from snapshot odds and ends with the great choice of music and inspired editing/postproduction!
Very pretty - very engaging.
Would love to have a go at doing this with some unintended archive footage.
What's the music?
Thanks for the kind words, Rupert. The music is the track "Lisieux" from the soundtrack for the Edith Piaf biopic "La Môme" (released in the US and elsewhere as "La Vie en Rose".
And thank you as well for being such a tireless and inspirational group leader!
I don't know whether my reaction was totally shaped by jay's comment or not... but I found it really creepy and beautiful.
Post a link to the blog post, too, Sam, so we can comment there. Otherwise these comments get separated from the original post (which lasts).
