As initiator of the thread, I guess I get to post first:
I shot this footage before I heard about Semanal, so this is more of an exercise in in creating a narrative of sorts out of material shot without any particular purpose in mind, and in playing with mood and atmosphere, rather than trying to discern any meaning (there isn’t any). It was also my first real test of the Aiptek GO-HD camcorder.
Ok, this is my debut. It´s 1 minute 20. It has subtitles in Spanish which basically explain that on the weekend of January 6th, which marks the end of the holiday season, many families head up to the Río Medellín source to cook sancocho (a soup based on vegetables and chicken), hike and camp.
Special thanks to Rupert and Andreas for turning me on to Lumiere. It was fun for me to be BEHIND the camera for a change, and who knew that Shane and Lexi would unknowingly be so sentient.
